Every project now opens without building its folios; a folio is built
when it is shown or something needs its items (QETProject::lazyFolios()).
QET_LAZY_FOLIOS is gone; QET_EAGER_FOLIOS=1 builds every folio on
opening, as before, for comparisons and troubleshooting. Comments that
named the old variable now say "lazy folios"; the tests switch modes
with the new one.
The first save of a .qet as .qetz still builds every folio: a .qet does
not say which program wrote it, so its folios are written again rather
than copied. A .qetz opens and saves without building.
ctest 96/96 by default and with QET_EAGER_FOLIOS=1; 342 corpus projects
save the same in all four arms and export the same. In the GUI
(qet-gui-dialog): a 136-folio .qetz opens with no folio built, shows
folios 1 to 4, saves building none, the save = the original but the time
spent in it; a .qet opens lazily, saves as a .qetz beside it after the
notice, the .qet unchanged.

The zipped project (.qetz) is the format QElectroTech saves.
- Save As and the first Save of a new project offer .qetz first
("untitled.qetz"); .qet can still be chosen.
- A project read from a .qet is saved as a .qetz beside it, the .qet left
as it is (QETProject::write(), so Save, autosave, a script's save and the
assistant's live save all do it). The project then works on the .qetz.
A path chosen afterwards (Save As, a script naming one) is saved to as it
is. The editor says so before the first such save, and asks before
replacing a .qetz already there.
- File > Save a copy for an older QElectroTech writes a .qet copy, for a
version that cannot open a .qetz; the project keeps its own file.
- The operating systems know the file: a freedesktop MIME type
application/x-qelectrotech-project+zip (*.qetz, and by its mimetype
entry when the name says nothing), the desktop file, macOS's document
types and the Windows installer's association.
Crash backups stay XML, written beside the project as before.
tst_resaveunchanged::qetSavedAsQetzBeside: a .qet saved where it is leaves
the .qet byte for byte and writes a .qetz beside it holding what a plain
save of the .qet holds; it fails when the switch is off. In a real window:
Ctrl+S on perceuse.qet shows the notice, writes perceuse.qetz and leaves
perceuse.qet's md5 unchanged; the copy for an older version (reached by
command search) equals a plain save but for time_spent; a new project's
Save offers untitled.qetz. xdg-mime finds the type by name and by content.
ctest 96/96 with and without QET_LAZY_FOLIOS=1; srclint R-C clean.

Typing "plan.qetz" over the selected "untitled" of "untitled.qet" gives
"plan.qetz.qet" with the GTK dialog, which saved a plain .qet named
.qetz.qet. Every trailing .qet/.qetz is stripped, and the project is
zipped when the .qetz file type is chosen or the typed name says .qetz.
Checked in the GUI: Save As, "saved.qetz" typed, writes saved.qetz, a
zip; launching on it shows the project.

Third stage of the zipped project file (#1440). A project is saved as a
.qetz when its file name ends in .qetz -- Save As offers it as a second
file type, and --resave, --set-titleblock, the script API's save() and
the live-mode snapshot follow the name too. Saving a .qet project still
writes a .qet; nothing changes unless the user picks .qetz.
Opening recognises a .qetz by its content (a zip), not its name, and
reads it as bytes: text mode would alter it on Windows. The project
document is joined back and read by the same code as a .qet. Crash
backups stay plain XML. Drag and drop, the open dialog and the
numbering import accept .qetz; the database export names its file from
the project's name without assuming ".qet".
Parts are now written without added indentation (one line each): the
symbol definitions are kept as read, whitespace included, and parts
that gained indentation made the next save differ (five forum projects).
Tests: tst_resaveunchanged::containerSavesTheSameProject (four examples
saved as .qetz, then as .qet, equal the straight .qet; pictures checked
to fail without the fix), tst_qetcontainer::noWhitespaceAdded. Outside
ctest: 341 of 341 projects QET can open (examples, bugtracker, GitHub,
forum) give the same .qet through a .qetz; 181.6 MB of .qet became
36.9 MB of .qetz.

Every tr() source string in the code and the forms is now the English
text, and French is a translation (qet_fr.ts) like the other languages.
Generated, not hand-edited: master ef795a21e5 converted by
qet-en-source (harness 4c4ddc9).
3144 messages get an English source, 665 already had one, 0 left French; 8 shared-wording pairs disambiguated.
C++: 2904 literals in 233 files. Forms: 809 strings in 65 files. All 34 .ts files re-keyed; qet_fr.ts filled.
lupdate check: PASS. What each of 38 languages shows, old vs new: same 118266, English instead of French 38433, comment fallback 51, differences 0.
ProjectView::askUserForFilePath() only appended the .qet extension when
FLATPAK_ID/SNAP_NAME were NOT set, on the assumption that the
xdg-desktop-portal file dialog used by sandboxed Snap/Flatpak builds
always appends the selected filter's extension itself (avoiding a
double ".qet.qet"). In practice, on the reporter's Snap/Ubuntu 22.04
setup the portal dialog does not append it, so the environment-based
skip left Save As producing a file with no extension at all.
Portal behavior isn't something QET controls or can reliably detect via
environment variables -- it depends on the desktop's actual portal
implementation/version. Rather than guessing per-environment, normalize
unconditionally: strip any existing .qet suffix (case-insensitive) and
re-append exactly one. This produces the correct single extension
whether or not the dialog already added it, on every environment.
Verified: clean rebuild, only the intended object file recompiled and
linked successfully. Wrote a standalone test of the normalization logic
covering no-extension, already-has-extension, uppercase-extension, and
a literal dot in the base filename -- all four produced exactly one
correct ".qet" suffix with no double-extension and no missing extension.
Not verified: the actual Snap-sandboxed portal dialog behavior itself,
since building/running the Snap package and testing its file-save
dialog under a portal is outside what's practical to set up in this
sandbox. Confidence rests on the fix removing the environment-guessing
entirely in favor of unconditional, dialog-implementation-agnostic
normalization, which is correct regardless of what the underlying
dialog does.
ProjectView::initWidgets() called insertSpacing(1, 10) on a QHBoxLayout
that was still empty, inserting past the end of the item list. The
corrupted layout crashed later in QWidget::setLayout() via
QLayoutPrivate::reparentChildWidgets() and QBoxLayout::itemAt().
Use addSpacing(10) instead, which is equivalent for an empty layout.
Three new QUndoCommand subclasses (AddDiagramCommand, RemoveDiagramCommand,
MoveDiagramCommand) pushed onto the project's existing (already
project-scoped) undo stack, so folio structure edits are undoable
alongside every item-level edit already on that stack.
- QETProject::addDiagram()/detachDiagram() are the shared attach/detach
primitives: they mutate the diagram list, connect/disconnect the two
per-diagram signals set up at add time, and emit diagramAdded/
diagramRemoved. AddDiagramCommand and RemoveDiagramCommand call these
(via friend access) for both redo and undo, so a removed diagram is
parked rather than destroyed -- it's only actually deleted if the
command itself falls out of undo history while still detached.
- ProjectView reacts to diagramRemoved the same way it already reacted to
diagramAdded (tearing down/rebuilding the tab), so both directions of
both commands go through the same reactive path every other diagram
listener (project database, cross-references, generic panel) already
relies on.
- MoveDiagramCommand wraps a new ProjectView::setDiagramPosition(), which
performs the tab move and the project's diagramOrderChanged() list
reorder synchronously in one step, instead of relying on the queued
tabMoved connection (needed for interactive drag-and-drop) to catch up
later -- avoiding a second, redundant reorder from that queued call.
- Multi-folio delete and multi-folio move (QETDiagramEditor::removeDiagrams()
and the moveDiagram*(QList<Diagram*>) batch slots) wrap their per-diagram
loop in QUndoStack::beginMacro()/endMacro(), so a multi-select action is
one undo step, matching current UX.
- Softened the delete confirmation's "this change is irreversible" wording
now that it no longer is.
Verified headlessly (Xvfb + xdotool + scrot): add/undo/redo, delete/undo/
redo (single and multi-select, single undo step for the batch), and
move/undo/redo all behave correctly against a 7-folio project.
Disable the QTabWidget internal scroll buttons and add own buttons for
scroll 'one page left' and scroll 'one page right'. The scrolled
diagrams will be activated.
It was removed in b121dad for all platforms.
Only disable appending the suffix for the flatpak platform
by testing for the FLATPAK_ID environment variable.
Like previous commit, in the method loadDiadrams() we call the method
diagramAdded(), in this method we call rebuildDiagramsMap()
updateAllTabsTitle() and these methods operate a loop for each existing
DiagramView.
Now loadDiagrams don't call diagramAdded (which must be used only when
user add a diagram during the use of QElectroTech) but make operations
itself and when all DiagramView are added, call rebuildDiagramsMap()
updateAllTabsTitle() only once.
Before this commit :
ElementPropertiesWidget emit a signal of Diagram to edit an element, and
the signal goes up from Diagram -> DiagramView -> ProjectView ->
QetDiagramEditor and QetDiagramEditor call a static function.
Now :
ElementPropertiesWidget call the static function itself and that all.
All unnecessary signals are removed.
At time of closing project, if a master element(may be every linkable
element) is selected and the editor dock display a lot of available
slave, qet crash.
