Discussion #604. Revives #643, closed on 2026-09-10 only to clear the
review backlog, ported onto current master.
The element editor shows an infinite grid, with nothing to judge how
big a symbol will look on a real folio. Affichage > "Afficher le cadre
de fond" draws a dashed blue rectangle centred on the element's origin
(the hotspot), sized by default to the drawing area of a default folio
(BorderProperties: columns x column width by rows x row height,
1020 x 640). Affichage > "Taille du cadre de fond..." sets another
size. Both persist in QSettings (elementeditor/background_frame_*).
The frame is drawn in ElementView::drawBackground(), so it is not part
of the scene: it is never written to the .elmt file and never in the
SVG export (scene render).
Changed from #643: resolved against master's new-style connects and
the hotspot visibility switch; the toggle gets the unused
document-print-frame theme icon (light and dark), without which it
showed as a text button in the icon toolbar; the size action is
registered with ShortcutManager like the toggle.

The 3D mouse only acted on the diagram editor: SpaceMouseListener
ignored every other window, so the element editor did not move at
all (reported by scorpio810 in PR #635 with a SpacePilot Pro).
applyMotion() now also handles a QETElementEditor, driving its
ElementView through the same scrollbar pan and a new
ElementView::zoom(factor), which keeps the wheel zoom's clamping.
The element editor's scene rect only covers what is on screen, so it
is grown before each pan sample, as its middle-button pan does;
without that the scrollbars have no range and the pan does nothing.
Verified under Xvfb with an LD_PRELOAD stand-in for libspnav feeding
recorded motion samples: element editor zooms 1.63x for ten z=50
samples and pans; diagram editor screenshots are byte-identical to
master's for the same input.

ElementView applied scale() on every wheel notch with no bound on the
resulting view transform. Held down, the scroll-wheel zoom drives the
transform scale (m11) to floating-point overflow; the transform becomes
non-invertible, mapToScene() returns NaN and the next background paint
aborts the editor ("program closes completely" as reported on Windows).
Route zoomIn/zoomOut/zoomInSlowly/zoomOutSlowly through a new
scaleClamped() helper that only applies the scale while the result stays
within [m_min_zoom, m_max_zoom] (0.1 .. 200). Behaviour within that range
is unchanged.

Introduced additional spinboxes in config-page for
setting min- and max-size of grid-dots separately for
diagram- and element-editor.
That assures maximal flexibility for setting the grids.
Don't want the grid-dots to change over zooming-levels?
Set min- and max-values to the same number.
Preset-values for all min-/max-values is "1".
If the adjustable range of 1 to 5 is not sufficient, it
can be easily adjusted. Only need feedback for this.
Use angleDelta() instead
manhattanLength()
Returns the sum of the absolute values of x() and y(),
traditionally known as the "Manhattan length" of the vector
from the origin to the point.
This class was introduced in Qt 5.5
